What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Bluey
What is your favorite children's book?
"If You Give a Mouse a Cookie," because all of my children loved that book.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Barbie Dolls
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My mom is my greatest inspiration. She is always there for everyone in the family and is the one who introduced me to the medical field.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Spending time with my husband and our 3 children. We love to go to Disneyland and the beach.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
My passion for pediatrics developed during my 11 years as a NICU nurse. Caring for newborns during some of the most critical moments of their lives and supporting families through both challenges and milestones was incredibly rewarding. I had the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with parents, provide education and reassurance, and advocate for my patients when they were most vulnerable.
Those experiences inspired me to further my education and become a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner so I could continue caring for children beyond the neonatal period and have a greater role in promoting their long-term health and development. I enjoy partnering with families, providing preventive care, and helping children thrive from infancy through adolescence.
What continues to motivate me is the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families, not only by treating illness but also by supporting healthy growth, development, and overall well-being.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in a primary care setting, I combine strong clinical expertise with a compassionate, family-centered approach to care. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to build trusting relationships with both children and their families. I take the time to listen to concerns, explain diagnoses and treatment plans in clear, understandable language, and ensure parents feel informed and involved in their child's care.
I am skilled in providing comprehensive preventive care, managing acute and chronic pediatric conditions, and promoting healthy growth and development. I strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where children feel comfortable and families feel respected and heard.
Building positive rapport begins with effective communication, empathy, and consistency. I tailor my interactions to each child's developmental level, helping reduce anxiety and encouraging cooperation during visits. With families, I focus on collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and education, empowering them to make informed healthcare decisions. My goal is not only to treat illness but also to serve as a trusted partner in supporting the long-term health and well-being of every child and family I care for.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
Yes. I am committed to providing individualized, compassionate care for children with special healthcare needs. I recognize that every child has unique physical, developmental, behavioral, and emotional needs, and I work closely with families to ensure visits are tailored to help each patient feel comfortable and supported.
I take the time to understand each child's specific needs, communication style, and any accommodations that may help create a positive healthcare experience. This may include allowing extra time during appointments, modifying examination techniques, using age-appropriate and sensory-friendly approaches.
My goal is to build trusting relationships with patients and their families while providing comprehensive, family-centered care that promotes the best possible health outcomes and supports each child's overall well-being.
