Q&A with Jason
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
Wreck-It Ralph
What is your favorite children's book?
The Peace Book is a beautiful reminder that peace is something children can practice every day — with their words, their hands, their choices, and their hearts.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
Hot Wheels
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My greatest inspiration is my dad. As a father, he modeled strength, responsibility, sacrifice, and deep love for family. He taught me that character matters, that hard work has dignity, and that showing up for your family is one of the greatest forms of love.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Spending quality time with family and friends, walking or jogging outdoors.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
My journey into pediatrics began when I accepted a position as a school nurse supervisor for a large charter school network while working as an agency nurse. I did not initially plan for pediatrics to become such a meaningful part of my career, but through that experience, I discovered how much I enjoyed caring for children, supporting families, and helping students thrive in both health and school settings. That role inspired me to further my education and advance my degree to become a nurse practitioner. Pediatrics became more than just a job opportunity — it became a calling.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
My practice provides pediatric care with a whole-child, family-centered approach that is aligned with established pediatric standards while also considering lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, development, emotional wellness, and environmental factors that may influence health.
What sets me apart is the time I take to listen, understand the full picture, and create practical, individualized care plans. I value evidence-informed recommendations, preventive care, and collaboration with families, specialists, therapists, and schools when appropriate.
I build trust by communicating clearly, respecting family goals, and helping parents feel heard and supported. My goal is to partner with families in a thoughtful, balanced way that supports each child’s safety, development, and long-term well-being.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
Yes. I accommodate patients with special needs by providing individualized, family-centered care with a whole-child approach. I take time to understand each child’s medical history, developmental level, sensory needs, communication style, nutrition, sleep, daily routines, environmental factors, and overall wellness picture. Visits are approached in a calm, flexible, and supportive way, with care plans tailored to the child’s unique needs and the family’s goals. When appropriate, I collaborate with caregivers, schools, therapists, and specialists to support the child’s health, development, and well-being.
