What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated movie is Mulan.
What is your favorite children's book?
The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein because it highlights how the tree showed unconditional love for the boy.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite animated character is Rainbow Brite.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My mom- she came to this country with nothing as an immigrant, raised 3 girls while also tending to her husband with a chronic health problem and I never heard her complain
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Spending time with family, trips to Disney World, traveling, visiting wineries.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I have always loved kids from an early age. I started babysitting kids at 12 years old. I have worked for almost every children's hospital in the state- Dell Children's in Austin, Texas Children's in Houston and Driscoll Children's in Corpus Christi. I have not worked with another patient population and I never want to !
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
I am a mom of two kids myself and so I relate to many families across the age spectrum. I have breastfed both my children and so I am passionate about breastfeeding education and helping moms be successful in whatever their feeding journey may be.
How do you accommodate patients with special needs?
We empower parents and caregivers as equal partners in care decisions. we note special accommodations or preferences in patient charts. we communicate with schools, therapists and specialists to coordinate care
