Q&A with Cynthia
What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?
My favorite animated movie is Inside Out. I love how it shows the importance of emotions and how we all go through them, it’s creative, funny, and meaningful.
What is your favorite children's book?
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie holds a special place in my heart because my daughter once won a competition with that book. It brings back wonderful memories of her achievement and the joy of sharing stories together.
What was your favorite childhood toy?
My favorite childhood toy was a Tweety Bird plushy.
Who is your greatest inspiration?
My biggest inspirations are my mom and my children. My mom’s strength and resilience have shaped the person I am today, and my children inspire me to keep growing, stay grounded in my faith, and work hard to be the best example I can be for them.
What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I love baking and trying new recipes, serving and staying involved in our church, and planning events and birthdays for family and friends.
What inspired you to work in pediatrics?
I’ve always loved working with children, and my time in the NICU showed me the resilience of those little fighters. Watching them grow and thrive inspired me to transition into pediatrics, where I can continue supporting kids and their families through every stage of their journey.
What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?
What sets me apart is the way I connect with kids and their families, not only as a pediatric provider but also as a mom of four. ( 3 girls and 1 boy) I understand the worries and joys that come with raising children, and I try to make every child feel safe and cared for while making parents feel supported and understood. My background in the NICU and pediatrics has taught me the value of patience, empathy, and celebrating even the smallest milestones. I strive to build trust by treating every child as if they were my own.
