What inspired you to work in pediatrics?

Since my first rotation in pediatric I fell in love with children and newborn. Treating them it is a challenge, They don't talk, we have to put together all gathering information to find what's wrong and how to treat them. Children are happy even if they are sick, they laugh, and tell histories unrelated at the moment. They hugs, and say bye. They don't lie.

What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?

I listen to my patients, and clear answer their questions to the child and their parents or family. I provide them with all the evidence that support their condition and treatment plan. I talk to the child, I let them tell their illness. I address them. I provide them with appropriate toys and stickers for their age and have few second of play time. I build trust to get most of their concerns and feelings.

How do you accommodate patients with special needs?

Patient with special needs, try to get head up, if nervous or scare of the visit, the child goes immediately to the room, if scare of the vital signs, we wait to the end, if refused examination of ears or mouth, I respect them. Let mother know to prepare the child before the next visit, providing them with pictures of doctors clinic or toys, if the clinic overwhelm them, let the parent know to bring her safety toy or blanket or the tablet to keep him entertained. if the visit became impossible and a phone call is appropriate, a telephone appointment is scheduled with the parent. I also give them sensory toy to keep entertain during the visit.
