Q&A with Ambrie

What is your favorite animated movie or cartoon?

My favorite animated cartoon is Moana

What is your favorite children's book?

The whole Harry Potter series. It sparks imagination and a sense of wonder!

What was your favorite childhood toy?

My favorite childhood toys were Legos.

Who is your greatest inspiration?

My greatest inspiration is my family. They motivate me to work hard, stay grounded, and strive to be a positive role model both personally and professionally.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I spend most of my time supporting my children in their extracurricular activities, which keeps our schedule busy, but very rewarding. I also enjoy going to the gym as a way to stay active and manage stress.

On slower weekends, when we don’t have sports commitments, our family enjoys spending time together in simple ways. One of our favorites is playing bingo at our local Chick-fil-A. It’s something fun and relaxed that allows us to connect and be part of the community!

What inspired you to work in pediatrics?

What inspired me to work in pediatrics is not only my role as a provider, but also as a mother. That perspective has deeply shaped the way I approach patient care. I understand the trust families place in me, because I would want the same level of compassion, attentiveness, and advocacy for my own children.

Being both a parent and a provider allows me to connect with families on a more personal level. I strive to create an environment where parents feel heard and supported, and where children feel safe and cared for. My goal is to treat every patient with the same level of care and consideration I would expect for my own child.

What unique qualities, skills, or services set you apart, and how do you build a positive rapport with patients and their families?

What sets me apart is my connection to the Calallen community I serve. I was raised here, educated here, and now my own children attend school here. This isn’t just where I work, it’s home. That perspective allows me to care for my patients not just as individuals, but as part of a community I am personally invested in.

Being part of this community allows me to go beyond clinical care. I understand the schools, resources, and challenges families face locally, which helps me provide more personalized and practical support.

How do you accommodate patients with special needs?

Yes, I accommodate patients with special needs by providing individualized, patient centered care that focuses on comfort, communication, and trust.
I have attended trainings offered by Pediatric Associates as well as Driscoll Children's Hospital, focused on caring for children with special needs. These training has strengthened my skills in behavioral support and communication strategies.
